Current Research

We present the latest research in the field of autism.

Welcome to the first in a series of four blog posts. This series will outline what you can expect in every issue of Autism Advocate Parenting Magazine. We have organized the magazine into four categories to serve our parenting community.

  1. Current Research
  2. Expert Advice
  3. Resources
  4. Parent Advocating

Let’s start at the beginning – current research in autism. Our research team scours the peer-reviewed journals in the field of autism to find out what is happening on the cutting edge of autism research.

We are very excited about the “Current Research” category because it has personal significance. In our own autism journey, we have spent countless hours researching the genetics, the causes, the evidence-based therapies and the statistics.

But we were often left not knowing if the research was valid, if the sample sizes were satisfactory, or if a statistical “trend” was valid. We didn’t always understand it, but we made the effort in order to try to arrive at some conclusions. Now you have a resource that will bring the relevant research to you, and present it in a way you can understand. We hope you get as much value and satisfaction from reading the current research as we do.
